Job Title: Customer Service Representative
Required Office Hours: 8:30am to 4:30pm



I. PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Customer Service Representative services Insurance Associates, Inc.’s existing and new customers to ensure their automobile, home, umbrella and other Personal Lines insurance needs are met.

II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Advise customers on appropriate levels of insurance to meet their Personal Lines insurance needs.
• Serve as primary contact for customers with, or in need of, automobile policies
• Assist customers with filing claims, making payments, and clarification of billing questions
• Meet and greet walk-in customers and other visitors to the office
• Answer office telephones in a professional manner and either assist or transfer caller as appropriate
• Work with representatives from multiple insurance companies
• Ensure that customer records are up to date and appropriately filed
• Perform general office duties, including filing, copying, faxing, scanning, and record keeping
• Other duties, as assigned

III. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Valid MA insurance brokers license preferred
• Minimum of two years experience in personal lines, particularly automobile policies; additional experience preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Knowledge of Special Agent office management system preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
